Parking for the Eurostar

So I've, um, accidentally got myself in a situation where I'll have my car at Silverstone (near Milton Keynes for those of you not knowing exactly where that is!) just before I need to head off to Paris for a week for work.

Now I think I can discount parking at St Pancras (£37 a day? I think not!), but can anyone suggest somewhere decent to park on a line into St Pancras or King's Cross Monday post-morning-rush-hour till Saturday?

I know there's a car park at Ebbsfleet, but I'd rather be north of London given I'll be driving all the way up to Glasgow on the Saturday once I get back!

Having looked this up a bit, Luton seems reasonably cheap at £23/week (plus £16.85 for a railcard return), but I have no idea how busy that is with commuters during the week and whether I'd get parked at 11ish on a weekday morning? I assume it either fills up early because of how cheap it is, or is that cheap because it's half empty!

I'm not opposed to paying a bit more for the train to/from if it makes a decent difference to how far I have to drive back to Glasgow!

Maybe consider tube stations. A friend of mine sometimes parks at Chalford & Latimer (Met line, so stops at Kings Cross St Pancras), I've just looked up the pricing and its £19.20 for a week's season ticket

Luton Airport Parkway isn't a difficult one, though I don't know about how payment works there as it's ages since I last parked there. It's a large multi storey so I doubt it fills up though I have no experience of using it at peak times.

Another option may be Bletchley - OK, it's not to St P, but Euston isn't far from there (10 minutes walk or 5 on a bus), and the car park never gets even near full. A week seems to be £17.50, and if you were to get there very early or very late in the day there is some on street parking for free on Sherwood Drive (though while it is a reasonably decent area I don't know if I'd leave a car on street anywhere other than my house for a week).

Oh, that's a good thought! Really would rather somewhere where someone can say I'll likely get parked, though; don't want to end up late for the Eurostar trying to find somewhere to park!

I was thinking of Luton station itself rather than the parkway; its "new" (2011) carpark is a fair bit cheaper than the parkway.

FWIW, I'd mostly discounted Euston for the sake of not having to take suitcase between the two stations. (I'm well aware of the distance; I stay around there often enough when I'm in London!) That said, Bletchley is temptingly close to Silverstone and the M1 so it's definitely good to know the odds are very good so probably not worth discounting!

Try Harlington. Just off junction 12 of the M1 with a train every 15 minutes to St Pancras.

You are absolutely certain to get a parking space at Bletchley at any time of day. Or 20, if you so desire. The car park is not at all busy. It didn't even fill up before they double-deckered it.

Shame everyone goes to Leighton Buzzard as to the contrary cars park anywhere, everywhere, out of spaces and it is rammed full most days!

LM did try to attract people to Bletchley instead of MKC and possibly Leighton by cutting the prices quite heavily but it didn't work so they went back up again. I think people value the fast trains too much (I personally value the certainty of a seat of my choice on the 0713 and wouldn't go from Leighton because of the fact that the MKC commuters take all the seats on the fasts!)

They did remove a bit of the double-decking at Bletchley and move it somewhere else - I think it did go to Leighton.
