I have just heard on the radio news that all rail, tube and bus stations at London Bridge are closed due to a security alert - no doubt widespread chaos which will extend to the rest of the day.

Metro are reporting that a suspicious vehicle is being investigated by a bomb disposal squad robot.

No doubt the vehicle was left in a daft place.

Let's hope they "blew the bloody doors off" and inconvenienced the driver!

Certainly is inconveniencing rush hour passengers. The inability for London Bridge to cope with disruption is laughable. Bermondsey dive under solves all issues my ass

Lets see a picture of the car and name and shame the moron. Can they be fined for their stupidity too?

It was a range rover parked up outside an off-licence, just the sort of car your high end terrorist uses when trying to blow up Oddbins!

Has every parked car now to regarded as suspicious now?

If that was the extent of the situation you might have had a point...

Well done NR and the TOCs for getting things moving again. No fault of their own that trains were stopped.

The last confirmed 'car bomb' I can remember in London, about ten years ago, involved a Range Rover left unattended with no sign of the occupants outside licensed premises, near Piccadilly Circus. In that case it was packed with explosives, thankfully neutralised before they could go off, so that could have been a trigger.

What, the diveunder which is only partly open and Southeastern operating with only 5 tracks through the station instead of the normal 7. Of course it's going to cause major disruption.

True but I just don't get why hours later it's still so messy

A 2-3 hour closure puts just about every unit, every driver, in the wrong place.

deltic is, I suppose, a bit closer to the truth than your comment implies, though "off licence" isn't quite the relevant bit...

Ohh! Everything I read internally seemed to point to something different

I can't seem to recall any off-licence around the location quoted in the log, although tbf I haven't been to London Bridge for a good while.

There are a few quite juicy details in the log.

There's an Oddbins on the corner of the road entrance to the bus station. That's where the suspect vehicle was.
