I heard that the fire was out by the time Fireman Sam decided to flood it!
A leaking fuel line I think was the cause, spraying diesel onto the hot exhaust?
I imagine it will eventually be returned to service.

The fire brigade were only being cautious, it wouldn't be that good if they had cleared off and the thing had re-ignited. The damage to 712 from the fire wasn't that fatal, but the water did get in alot of places. Like I've said it's up to WCRC what to do and we'll all be informed when there is an update about the beast.

37402: I thought it has changed hands, and is now in the care of the Growler Group?

Believe the Growler Group are the custodions, TTT still being the owners. Same as 099, it is looked after by the group but has a private owner. If I have any of that wrong i'm sure 402 will correct me.

37248 is owned by 3 Growler Group committee members. One of them is me. It won't be doing any more work as part of the WCRC fleet, since we've decided it is time for it to come home now.
