Well I don't remember where I was but on the way it was towards the front but anyway we didnt have too much trouble with our coach but I remember something about a broken window.
But generally that set was manky because it reeked of sweat and the toilets were nasty but if you kept to your set you were okay.

If Spitfire weren't so cheap and didn't book such excellent traction I honestly would be very put off going with them just by the stock.

Spotted a few comments on here perhaps requiring acknowledgement.

The broken window on the Wey-farer was a droplight, the spring mechanism went while we were in Jersey Sdgs at Weymouth. With regards to Coach A (No light/Heat) on this tour, everyone had the option of moving to Coach G (The aircon TSO - For pay on the day), but surprisingly everyone in the vehicle opted to stay in the front coach!. The heating was disconnected between Coach B and D while sat in the platform at Oxford, this was due to an under seat heater getting a little too warm in Coach D, heating was restored on the return with the said heater isolated during the break in Jersey Sdgs. (except Coach D - again passengers who felt they'd like somewhere warmer were offered the Air-Con).
Not aware of the issues on the Settle for Edinburgh trip apart from the Buffet (Coach F), the heating was very slow to get going, then once full up with people with quarter lights open to hear the 37's, well you can guess it was a no win situation.

All comments are noted re- stock and it is something we are working hard with West Coast to resolve.
Please do pass comment to your coach steward on the day should you feel something is not as it should be, all comments do get filtered back to me - failing that drop us an email so we can understand/have sight of the problem.

With regards to traction, glad no serious complaints there!.

Well there it is basically they have problems and actually admit it but take the time to explain this is another reason why I will always have good look into any spitfire tour.

Hope to have a couple of alternative traction tours by the end of 2009, hopefully including 31's, but for now, I believe Pathfinder have an offering that'll suit your needs on 6th June.

Would love to do this tour to get that line in at Bescot and of course the two 20s, but I'll never make Birmingham for that time of day. On the same subject, I've heard Spitfire do sensible rates for part-fares, any chance of getting an idea on a New Street to Wolves single part fare?

Nothing showing on their site yet, and they were saying on the PA on The Mersey Mancunian that it was possibly going to be in Essex, with nothing set in stone.

When due to a family event which I couldn't really just not go to I had to flag the June 21st Crewe - Paignton however did a part leap from New Street to Wolves on the night, I was charged a fiver so nothing bad.

A fiver is about what I'd expect to be honest, would suit me just fine.

Believe the slow timing is to allow a pair of the 60mph 20's to work so you'll be looking at the 301 -306 range IIRC.

Are you on it for Bescot UDGL (which you should have done on Cambrian jobs) as I hear you are now a desperate track ned? You'll be photting station signs next.

Can someone tell me, if i want to change the station im going from, from birmingham new street to international, do i need to tell someone (i.e phone up) at spitfire or can i just turn up at international?
I put new street on the booking form but it's the same price so i'm not sure?

I would contact Spitfire because if they are unaware of you getting on at international your seat for that leg of the journey could be sold say for example a part fare.

Should be good, thanks for the info. According to the storage lists on wnxx, it may be 303 and 304. I'm not good with knowing what's operational at the moment, are these 2 a possibility?

Yup, thats dud, hasn't every tour thats ever recessed for a bit at Bescot used that line? We did have some other siding on the Industrious trader though. Desperate track ned? Not quite, have scratched a bit of track this year though, Metrocentre crossover, spot of 142 ECS mileage as you do!
