Yes a great selection mate, 70013 Oliver, 6990 Witherslack Hall, 78018 2MT, 777 Sir Lamiel, 92214 standard 9F, 48624 8F, 46521 Ivatt 2mt, 45305 Black 5, 47406 Jinty 3F, a DMU, and Maunsell Q class 0-6-0 30541, on loan from the Bluebell..

Can concur that it was a well supported gala as always. It was worth the 0550 start from home for it. It looks as if 73156 isn't too far off being done - would be nice to see that out and about soon.

Jealous, no steam down here as out of season or trackwork being done, GCR is a railway on my list to visit, double track heritage must be amazing.

Yes, agree that it was a good event, although the timetable started to go a bit astray on saturday afternoon.

Not the fault of GCR, but I wish that the Crewe - Derby service had better connections to/from Loughborough. It is frustrating to see a Loughborough service leave Derby just as a train from Crewe is arriving, and then have to wait almost an hour for the next Loughborough service. I might have made more visits to the GCR if there had been some decent connections at Crewe & Derby.
