I noticed this diagram on realtimetrains, it routes via Todmorden/Warrington/Crewe/Nuneaton/Landor St/Gloucester and Severn tunnel.
It seems a long route to me, but it is booked to stop at Nuneaton for just 3 minutes before it backtracks via Abbey jct.
I can only think that it is a light engine movement but why the long journey I don't know?
TIA

Look like a Harsco track machine, probably going the long way round due to route knowledge, there's a crew change booked at Crewe, and to actually find any sort of path too, given it's comparatively slow speed.

Afraid I can't answer the question but please don't think I'm being pedantic but you seem to be referring to a train rather than a diagram. A diagram is a day's duty for traction or the duties of a shift for a member of traincrew.
