456s - Information Screens

The SWT class 456s still show the time as 00:00 on their internal information screens. Their external indicators are still blank, years after the units' refurbishment. Has any hope of providing properly-working systems been abandoned?

The internal clocks do work now generally, still get the odd unit which shows 00:00 though.

The problem with clocks showing 00:00 happens on a huge amount of trains. I have seen clocks stuck on 00:00 on 158 / 159 / 185 / 350 / 360 / 444 / 450 / 455 / 456 / 458 so far!

I must have been unlucky as I have never seen one showing anything other than 00:00.

The external screens remain blank too. I find it extraordinary that such a situation has existed following a thorough refurbishment for years now.

Add 317s to that list.

I'm on the 456s several times a week and they definitely are generally working now. Still less reliable than the 455s mind.

The desiro clock issue was fixed a while ago but as said in this thread already there are one or two units going round with 00:00 still.

The external displays on the 456s are connected as I've seen empties with the screen switched on & completely orange!

Indeed! What a shame they aren't used when the train is actually in service though.
