TOCs with free Wi-Fi ?

Can anyone confirm which of the following offer free Wi-Fi?

FGW on the sleeper to Padd
Virgin from Euston to Manchester
TPE from Manchester to Sheffield
EMT from Sheffield to St.Pancras
NXEC from King's Cross to Edinburgh
Anyone from Edinburgh to Glasgow
Virgin from Glasgow to Crewe

There's been talks of Virgin getting WiFi for ages now, but nothing seems to be happening about it.

There are WiFi spots on some stations, but you have to pay to access them. I know Paddington is an example of one of these stations.

just wondered that actually, cos it must be easier/cheaper to install than trains. When I told people at school NXEC have wifi they thought they trailed a few hundered miles of cat5 cable behind them

Also, maybe I had a dodgy set. But last time I was on NXEC using the WiFi, I found that as we stopped at stations, the WiFi stopped working!

Wonder how long it will be before it finally emerges from Marcroft, it was due out several months ago!

Back on topic, I'm really surprised the NXEC is still the only TOC to offer wifi as standard - it must be at least 3 years sinceits predecessor (GNER) introduced it (albeit free in FC only, pay in standard).

As far as I am aware, NXEC are the only company to offer it on stock. It is also available under the trainshed at York too. Does anyone know about the WiFi at St Pancras?

They say it's free though.

I'm told that the Virgin trains have the wifi installed but it's only for testing at the moment. I did try my iPod Touch earlier today and there were a few hidden networks around. I couldn't find any more details about them, let alone connect to them. But there was reasonable strength around the barriers so it could be some onboard ones.

It worked on my phone when I tried it on your birthday meet. The signal strength was a bit patchy though.

Because they were hidden I don't know what they're called. And I could be barking up the wrong tree completely with the info this program for my iPod Touch is giving me.

I have seen a poster in one of the staff bits "advertising" VHF and it mentions the wifi.

Yes you can

The free Wi-Fi zone within the station covers the main concourse, including the waiting rooms and cafes, and platforms 1 to 5. Passengers can access the service by logging on to the network 'nxecwifi_YORK,' the company said.

Used in York Last August. Easy to use(Can connecting to Internet be hard?) and fast, Best of all, it's FREEEEEEE!

I guess you're referring to the Stagecoach ones, but I think you would class them as coaches, as I'm sure they run inter city services, as they run up the A90, but I'm certain they don't do any routes in the city.
