I wouldn't worry if I were you. The last few times I've been on the loco hauled sets, the seats have beven worn out. Travelling with a spring sticking up your jacksie takes the shine off the experience; the carriages either need a refurb or scrapping. 168s are more comfortable.

Never had that experience thankfully on the MK3s, and 168s are definitely not more comfortable. They make a LM 170 feel comfortable...

Never had that experience thankfully on the MK3s, and 168s are definitely not more comfortable. They make a LM 170 feel comfortable...

As they have the same seat foams[1], just different covers, I'm surprised you'd think they were any different?

[1] They're actually different bases - the LM ones use the heavyweight painted metal ones and the CH ones the cheaper plastic-covered variety - but the foams are identical so I've never noticed a difference in comfort.

1st class in 'Business' zone is no problem. Use such a ticket very recently. Very pleasant trip it was too.
