A by-election yesterday saw a Conservative seat go to the Lib Dems. The fact the Conservatives didn't field a candidate in the hope that Independent Conservative, Zac Goldmsith, would win the seat (rather than splitting the Conservative vote between two candidates) and yet the Lib Dems still won says a lot about public confidence in the Conservative party following the Brexit vote and them having no idea what they are going to do with regards to Brexit.
It will also make Mrs May's job harder now. She already had a small majority prior to the by-election now she has one less MP.
