General Information
There appears to have been two Kinross stations:-
Kinross (Old) on the Kinross-shire Railway
Kinross (New) on the Fife and Kinross Railway
The original Kinross station (Hopefield) was on a spur immediately to the east of the site of Kinross Junction so not on our route. This was the terminus of the Fife & Kinross Railway - it could only have lasted from 1857 to 1862 or thereabouts. (Just to add a bit of extra spice, the station at Loch Leven was also called Kinross to start with, while it was a temporary terminus).[/I]
Kingskettle (reverse)
Another brief aside would note that the said Loch Leven was also noted as a "curlers platform"...

Would it have not been easier to have reversed at Ladybank as that was nearer to the connection between the Fife and Kinross Railway and the Edinburgh and Northern Railway
