I'm planning an inter rail trip to Austria in July, I've picked Innsbruck because of the cheap flights and scenic railway lines. Is an Austria Inter rail ticket valid on OEBB trains to Munich & Brenner?

Thanks

AFAIK:(someone correct me if I'm wrong!)

Brenner yes, it's on the border.
Munich no, it's well away from Austria, and trains with OeBB stock run as international services, but a Regio-Ticket Werdenfels at EUR19 would do you for a day trip via Mittenwald (by far the more scenic route).

You CAN use the direct Innsbruck-Salzburg service which runs through Germany, but the one-time direct cross-border Innsbruck-Lienz and -Reutte/Tirol services (where Austrian tickets were valid) no longer run.

Thanks, I'll sub Munich for Bludenz/Bregenz then, is it valid to Mittenwald

Innsbruck - Lienz is possible with a change in Fortezza/Franzensfeste.

Yes, but is it valid with an Austria Interrail? I think not.

Not sure, but the extra for Scharnitz Gr-Mittenwald won't be much.
And the journey out from Innsbruck is spectacular - though personally I would want to do the Arlberg main line as well.

The Werdenfels-Ticket+Innsbruck mentioned will cover you (EUR23 not 19, sorry) but you'd have to buy online from DB.
Alternatively you can get Sparschiene from Oebb at EUR9 each way by both routes to Munich.
