On certain mornings a train calls at West Hampstead at 08:38 on route to Willesden Junction Low Level. It is a 2 car class 172 set as used on the GOBLIN. When the GOBLIN was open, it ran almost everyday, but since the GOBLIN has been closed it appeared not to run. But over the past month or so it has shown up. Sometimes it appears it does not show up on the departure board at the station at West Hampstead.

It ran today (Nov 18) and did not have that many passengers on it, so I got a seat!

As the GOBLIN is closed, why does this short route train run (I am glad it does!)

Very likely to retain route knowledge over the connection to Willesden Junction Low Level without having to set up route learning paths at some later date.

Plenty of stuff goes down there, it's not a problematic section for route learning. 2M72 - well the stock is available, might as well use it if it helps a few people get a seat. LOROL are fairly pro-active with such things, bailed Southern out on West London for about half the year when they didn't bother running...
