Have yet to hear anything so far. It's giving me hope that a lot of people haven't though, they can't have lost that many applications in the sift. One or two I'd get. The optimist in me thinks they have a plan for us!

Got my email saying:
Great news, we loved reading your CV and cover letter and we would like to progress your application.

We would like you to complete an online verify assessment and in order to do your best, I would advise you to follow handy tips for success... Blah blah blah.

Then got my email for SHL.
They were sent both at 10:08 this morning.

Is the verify assessment the one everyone else has been getting?

I'm pretty surprised that if one person has already heard back results from the checking test that more people (i.e. everyone who's taken it already) hasn't heard something...

I mean these tests are all online, the results are now a matter of stored data so it would take seconds to filter the results and mail enmasse surely?

That's what I've been thinking. Unless they're not 100% basing their decisions on the test result.

Either that or looking on the bright side.. those that haven't heard yet are taking longer, as they have to be collated to areas, and allocated a place on an assessment day? ;)

*apologies to the divine powers that be for tempting fate!

Haha I'd love to think so but I've mentally prepared myself for a rejection email as I really don't think I cut the mustard on the test!

Hi everyone, I'm another hopeful waiting on outcome of checking test. Wish it would have given a score, at least then you'd have more of an idea of how likely you were to proceed! For what it's worth I think nerves got the better of me, I handled the practice much better. Never mind, what will be will be. Good luck to all still in the race

This thread 's literally 75+ pages of 'have you heard anything yet' 'nothing yet' 'anyone heard anything?' Lol. Good luck to all involved - but patience is your best friend!

When I applied to be a tram driver, it took just over twelve months from filling in the application form to sitting in the class room on the first day of the course.

When I applied to be a train guard on the East Coast mainline, it took eighteen months from application to class room.

'Patience' is definitely the watch word when it comes to railway recruitment so calm down guys and girls.

I was initially dubious of this, but having done the tests yesterday I am of the opinion that there may well have been "yes", "maybe" and "no" piles. I'm unsure what that test would really illustrate to the recruiters. But then I guess with the volumes they were dealing with it's an easy way of filtering people out who they weren@t sure about.

maybe they haven't cleared the address bar on their email and their just sending the emails to the same addresses over and over again while those who have received nothing feel left out and on edge

I have just received both a rejection email and the one inviting me to do the checking test from the test company at exactly the same time.
Then 10 minutes later I received the congratulations email.
Very confusing

I got my invitation to do the online test 30 minutes ago.
I sent through my application at about 23:45 in the day if the deadline, for London
Big relief to hear something
On holiday at the minute and the deadline for completing is the day i return, which is far from ideal as I'll probably be knackered.

That's the other option but I'd be nervous of the hotel WiFi being patchy
Ideally I'd like to go through the practice test here and see how it holds up. But then do you need to do the actual test immediately after or can you log out and come back to it at a later date?
Cheers
