Wow it's fast! Do you think it's better to skip than to get wrong?

Well I imagine that they're testing for both speed and accuracy. But I would expect there's more weight on accuracy because guessing the answers would have a bigger impact otherwise .

That said in a test of this nature it's quite possible an element of luck could carry you through over and above someone who is slower but more dilligent.

It's an unfortunste flaw in it's design.

Emailed them the other day to see how my application was progressing and received a response late last night. Basically saying they will be in touch in the next few days as they are still looking through unprecedented numbers of applicants. So still hope. Good luck all.

Just had an email saying I shouldn't have been sent the online tests as I'm already qualified. She said if I've done them not to worry and if I haven't then don't bother. They will be in touch shortly.

They appear to be a complete shambles. Sending people tests that don't need to do them. Not sticking to any of their deadlines. It is just a very clever marketing tool. They advertised the posts in all of the newspapers and then again when 15,000 people applied. Another trick from Mr Branson to get the Azuma name out there. Then they offer 25 % off tickets to the 14,922 unsuccessful people. Clever marketing trickery.

I know 6 non railway applicants and 7 drivers that have applied all for Leeds and nobody has heard....seems they are leaving Leeds till last???

Nice one hopeful2015 how you think you done?

Cheers. I think I did OK in the test. Fluffed one for definite and time ran out on 1.
When did you apply?

Ha ha ha

My misses would be better at that online test than me haha judging on what people have said it seems like an admin assistant type test to check accuracy and speed!

I applied on 7th October

Just got the rejection email.

Good luck to those that have done the test and all the best to those who've yet to hear.

On to the next one now.

Don't worry marshy can. As I said earlier it was just a marketing band wagon. Keep trying mate.

Got the email last Saturday from Virgin recruitment that they would like to progress my application and invited me to do the online test.

Having just done it I'm quite surprised that the test itself focuses on one aspect only. The email inviting you to take the test also links to many different practice tests. They only seem to be testing for one particular skill at this stage, which is a shame as when I applied with FTPE in the past they included verbal reasoning, situational judgement, mechanical comprehension and numerical reasoning all in the online test. That way you have a chance of performing well and they got a more rounded picture of your competencies.

Hope I did OK but if I didn't I've got no chance! Good luck to those waiting to hear.

As you keep replying with the 'marketing bandwagon' thing over and over again, what exactly are you suggesting? The positions don't exist? Not all of the positions exist?

If so, evidence please.
