I am travelling from Glasgow to Ayr tonight with an off peak ticket. What times can I not travel between?

You can travel at any time. On the Ayrshire mainline the only off-peak restrictions are that you can't travel before 09:15 Monday to Friday.

Or even 09:00, as with all Strathclyde routes.
