Interesting they can keep their corporate colours
If so south west trains can stay the same if stagecoach win as stagecoach isn't mentioned

I would expect SWT to stay as SWT (it's only a trading name) if Stagecoach win it and if First/MTR do I bet the SW bit is retained...
Believe it or not, people don't want to spend fortunes on re-branding.

The Stadler render on the homepage looks quite smart actually, I like that - though I am a little curious why the display reads 'INTERCITY' on a regional bimode?
Well the Stadler units are certainly going to be different from what we normally expect in the UK, but of course there are plenty of these trains around the world. In Austin they have some diesel ones the corridor connection through the power module on those looks a bit tight and in fact is marked as emergency use only. but I'm sure the uk ones will no doubt meet whatever is required. So far looking on you tube I haven't found a Bi-mode one either only Diesel or Electric.

I think they may well be used on the early morning, late evening Norwich runs. Possibly in multiple on earlier ones. It wouldn't surprise me if some shared the additional Norwich off-peak with the Lowestoft train with a split at Ipswich.

I'm anticipating that too - still, I think you can see the impression it gives to the casual viewer on the homepage. "Wait, our big loco-hauled trains are being replaced with that?"
That would surprise me, far more people travel to Norwich than Lowestoft and the off peaks are still pretty busy into and out of Norwich.
Ah, but what about good old West Anglia?
The WA was a founding part of Great Eastern company when the N&ER (which built it) merged with the Eastern Counties Railway (Great Eastern Mainline) and others
Why seems perfectly reasonable to me, 2 trains an hour are likely to be the Stadler IC EMU, but the third is a bit unclear at the moment quite possible some of these may be pairs of Regional Bi-Modes which split at Ipswich for Norwich and Lowestoft.

Been told at the roadshow that the stopping Norwich will utilise Stansted Express sets.

Just to clarify - do you mean the new fleet that will be introduced, or the transfer of the present Stansted Express branded Class 379s will be used on the Norwich route as a temporary basis before the Class 379s are withdrawn?

No 379s to Norwich. I'm still confused on the unit allocations. Lots can change in 2 years.
On the twitter page it seems the 'abellio' part of the branding has been edited out on the mk3 rake

So is it known what the plans are for the existing stock?
156s have been fully refurbished
153s have been refreshed. Or at least have had their carpets replaced ! maybe new seat covers to come?
317/6s have been fully refurbished- bar DDA requirements. Unsure if these mods will be required now
317/5s: A refurbishment programme is nearing completion on these and long overdue
317/8s: These are in desperate need of refurbishment and I guess as they have the same interior spec as the/5s they will be treated soon
321s: A number will be fully refurbished (?) and others will be brought up to an improved standard. The ex silverlink units have already been fully refreshed bar DDA mods. The ex GE units are having new seat covers and I think lightning improved. Will the green flooring and side panels/stanchions etc be renewed?
360s: These have had new seat covers only. Can we expect the clashing purple carpet to be replaced?
170s: These have had new seat covers only. Again can we expect the Anglia era carpet to be replaced?
379s: No work needed
Edit: Will the Anglia Railways livery finally be dispensed with on those remaining 170s?
Will the plain white livery be improved upon as it is so dull! Although the 156s have had advertising for the local lines placed on them recently

Im guessing that the vast majority of passengers probably dont know that it is a loco hauled train that they are getting now and will probably like something a bit more modern.

Don't mean to sound picky but the carpet in the 50 vehicles of 201-208 date from 2005 under NX.

If you lick both the Anglia and NX carpets you can clearly taste 5 years difference, so I'm told.....
