Looks like there has been 12 new lanes of sidings installed there in recent weeks where there was never sidings before in order to store those trains that are being dumped there on a weekly basis

Right now, it's not wasting the money of any TOC. The ROSCO are presumably holding out hope that the fever dreams of some on this forum come true and a further use can be found for them. The sidings may be of long term strategic use to Potters anyway.

Well someone has obviously paid for those sidings to be installed and yet it's very hard to see at the moment how they could get a return on their investment.

And terms of their potential use to Potters from what I've read on here it doesn't appear to be the busiest of freight terminals handling nothing more than aggregates and so I'm curious to know where this up turn in business is coming from.

Maybe they know something you don't? Or maybe the ROSCO is wasting their own money, either way you seem to be rather more put out over it than is reasonable.

Plenty more non life-expired stock due to be displaced over the coming years, perhaps they see the secure storage business being a profitable one for some time to come.

At the end of the day money is money. And with money often being a scant resource, hence the emphasis.

but a hard nosed business wouldn't invest without a return. I wonder if the fees earned by storing these 442 covers any installation costs and creates a secure site for future use.
