Arrived c.1412 from the North ! apparently empty. From Longsight? Anybody know what was going on?

Trains from Euston seemed to be running 20-30 late; had the 1243 Euston - Glasgow been turned round in the West Midlands or something?

Very odd.

(Curious day - there was a Voyager in Crewe's Plat. 8 c.1830!)

The Voyager in platform 8 came from Bushey, apparently.

Yesterday there was an empty Voyager on platform 2, which is unusual.

I caught this service (390001) at Preston this afternoon. Apparently the set originally working this service (it is usually a Voyager) broke down near Bushey, and the service was restarted at Crewe with a replacement unit.

Piece all the snippets that we've had on the thread:-
9S65 terminated Bushey due to failure and ran ECS thence to Crewe, Platform 8
Replacement 390 ECS ex Longsight to Crewe to re-start train.

Good to see such well exicuted recovery of service given the doubtless challenges of the anglo scottish via W mids service

Indeed - to have found a 390 + traincrew + pathing to get the 1209 away within about 15" of right time very impressive!

Incidentally, why send the "naughty" 221 to Crewe?

Maybe there was a need to transfer one or members of crew between the original and relief sets.

Some maintenance on Voyagers is done at LNWR Crewe so it could have gone there for that, or alternatively it's a nice out of the way place to store it until you can find a spare Wolves driver to take it to Central Rivers.
