This connects nicely with our next train.

The 1911 VR Intercity 930 which takes us to Turku where we arrive 2055 on Sunday night.

We settle for a dawn exploration of the depot as it appears we're here for the night.

After our saunter we board the first train of the day which is IC 904 leaving at 0649 and hoping for better luck this time with ferry connections we travel to Turku Satama (Harbour) station arriving 0809 on Monday morning.

There is a ship at 0815, though I suspect this is not the one the train is designed to connect with.

We take the 0845 Viking Line ship Amorella to Stockholm arriving 1855 on Monday evening.

I presume this is not in the centre of Stockholm. I remember having to take a metro and bus in 1980!

Yes not central but it seems things have improved since 1980 - :D

There is a dedicated coach transfer for our convenience.

Whilst I believe that the rules state 30 minutes connection should be allowed when ferries are involved this one and only coach it would seem leaves 20 minutes after arrival.
Seen as this is a coach service timed to serve this very ferry and all of this information is on Viking's website, I think it's safe to proceed.

1915 comes around and we leave on the Flygbussarna coach and alight at the Cityterminalen at 1935 on Monday evening.

Sources: Google Maps, flygbussarna.se and Viking line website

NB - The bus stop we depart from is named Stockholm Tegelvikshamnen.

We take the 2029 SJ Snabbtag 449 to Goteborg (Gothenburg) station, arriving 2330 on Monday night.

The City Terminus is adjacent to the station in Stockholm

We have arrived at the home of Scandinavia's largest tram network. Let's make a small dent in that network.

At 2357 our decision on where to go is solved as a line 4 tram rolls up bound for Angered Centrum. Wishing to know why this part of Gothenburg is so angry we alight from our Västtrafik tram. The time now being 0016 on Tuesday morning.

Having a lot of difficulties with Swedish, I gather there is a night service. So we take tram 4 again at 0031 to Brunnsparken in Gothenburg at 0050 on Tuesday morning.

There are connections here, but I'm not sure if by bus or tram

Well, just to complete the holy triangle, we can get a tram 9 at 0348 back to Angered Centrum arriving at 0421.

Bodie: Yeah all night tram bashing! Is this irony or enthusiasm? If it is enthusiasm, I've probably broken a rule by waiting so long, so do declare the post invalid!

I don't know who set up the game in the first place, but couldn't we have an optional sleep break between, say, 0030-0530 to avoid this sort of thing. I remember it stagnated the game in Madrid.

I wasn't really enthusiastic or ironic about trams. Just saw the same thing coming as happened in Madrid. We have ourselves an all night network (Madrid was buses, Gothenburg is trams) and bound by the rules we must keep moving and where possible take the first available departure.
When the only departures are local and even taking all the way to the terminus amount to twenty minutes, it's a long old night.

Thus I think your optional sleep break idea is an excellent one. I will get in touch with the quiz moderator and see if it can be added to the rules.

Least now the night is almost over things should get moving. Fearing accidentally getting back on the tram we have just arrived on, we ditch this mode of transport and get a bus instead.
Västtrafik number 40 will do the trick. Leaving at 0442 we journey to Göteborg Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen arriving 0516 on Tuesday morning.

Edit: Looking at the rules, this one sticks out. Edit: Looking at the rules, this one sticks out. "You shouldn't wait for more than three hours after the first available service (to any destination) has left, after allowing for the minimum interchange time."
We should be able to get through nights quicker with this rule. Being able to effectively skip three hours.

We feel we've seen enough of Goteborg's tram network, so we decide to head back to the railway station. It's two kilometres away, however we do not feel the need to walk it - all of our eggs have hatched into Pidgeys <( and we instead board the 0525 No.6 tram over the bridge to Göteborg Nordstan, arriving at 0529 Tuesday morning.

I believe this is new to us. We traverse the Öresund Bridge.

To do this we step into Central station and having grabbed an early breakfast it's time to board ahead of the 0555 departure. This is R 1033 which takes us to the Danish capital København H / Copenhagen Central arriving 0928 on Tuesday morning.

Now bored with being in Europe, we decide to go to the airport and see where we can go. The fastest way there is by virtue of the 0940 train to Københavns Lufthavn (Kastrup), arriving at 0957 Tuesday morning.

Asides the a flight to Doha, everything else is bound for European destinations.

That is except this:

Air Greenland flight GL 781 which leaves at 1100 and lands at Kangerlussuaq Airport, Greenland at 1140 local time on Tuesday morning.

Not wonderful connections from here.

We take the 1335 Air Greenland GL534 Sondre Stromfjord Kangerlussuaq (SFJ) to Aasiaat (JEG) arriving 1415 on Tuesday afternoon.

I do like it when we end up in these remote places.

The rules say no getting back on the same service we have just arrived on. Even though the destination is different our plane still is flying as GL534.

So we decide to wait for the next flight out of here.

"How long is that" we nervously ask one of the few folk around. "Late tomorrow morning" we are cheerfully informed.

Oh well! - better pull up a pew it's going to be a long one.

And so it is many hours later that we make our way to the aircraft. We don't need directing as we now know every Nook and cranny of this little airport.
It's 1105 and we're off on Air Greenland GL497 to Sisimiut, Greenland (JHS) landing at 1145 on Wednesday morning.

Source: flightstats.com

I have read there is a 'infrequent' bus service here to the town of Sisimiut. If someone is able to find a timetable for that then it's a rare opportunity to get some Greenland omnibus travel. Also the city's port has onward ferry sailings. At best twice a week but you never know! :D

The only reference I can find to this bus service is in Wikipedia. There are a lot of Google links to 'Sisimiut airport bus', but ultimately they just reproduce this Wiki article, which has no links. Apparently there is a bus which circulates the town, but the town is 4.5 km from the airport. I've even tried Googling in Danish, which just links to the same things. Google maps says 'no transit available.'

The rule is:

You may not re-board the service just used in the previous post

and unfortunately, the fight to Nuuk, the capital, where there might be buses and other connections is the same number we've arrived on.

I won't post a connection for 24 hours in case someone finds this mystery bus, but here is a link to departures in case someone does want to move on.

If it helps, I've found a bus timetable of sorts for the town, but cannot see anything to/from the airport.

I'm absolutely amazed how you found that!

However, as you say, there is no airport service mentioned, and it's too far to walk. Yet looking at today (Wednesday's) timetable, a later flight to Nuuk has appeared!

EDIT: Just found it was 'aflyst', and Google Translate confirms it is/was cancelled. I can't find the flight running next Wednesday!

So to keep things moving, the only valid move seems to take the Air Greenland GL496 back to Aasiaat (JEG) departing 1510, arriving 1550 on Wednesday afternoon.

Another long wait here.

Thursday dawns and we finally make it back to where our Greenland airport hopping began.

This is achieved by taking Air Greenland GL533 at 1100 to Kangerlussuaq (SFJ) arriving 1140 on Thursday morning.

Well we are in luck, not only do we bump into Father Christmas returning from a holiday in the sun but we can be on our way in no time.

At 1445 we are underway again with Air Greenland GL512 back to Kangerlussuaq arriving there at 1535 on Thursday afternoon.

Realise that to leave you have to wait to the next day, but finally get the 11:40 to Terminal 3 at Copenhagen International Airport (CPH) at 20:00, still on Friday.

It's then a transfer through the airport and onto EasyJet 1988. We push back at 2150 and arrive into Manchester Airport at 2250 GMT. It's still Friday night.

NB: Our flightpath goes over our UK alter-ego during the approach. We should try to get as far away from the crack in spacetime as possible!

Still some flights around.

We decide on Turkish Airlines 1492 which leaves Manchester at 2340 and arrives in the now coup free capital airport of Istanbul, Ataturk at 0540 local time on Saturday morning.

Our 'alter-ego' is stuck in Cardiff in the middle of the night. Anybody?

We leave the railway station and take the four minutes walk to the bus stop outside Harvest Printers and board the 1816 High Peak service 19 to Broken Cross (Newquay Drive) that arrives there at 1831 on Friday evening.

...and arrive into Manchester Airport at 2250 GMT...

The UK version of us was under the flightpath of our International self. Therefore, temporal disruption.
