1. if would be very helpful if you numbered your clues

2. don't narrow down the number of possible correct answers too quickly. [ Preston Park was the only possible answer after 4 clues - you really want a few more possibles still at that stage ] This is a general observation - in the past I've seen cases where there are only 4 or 5 possible answers after 2 clues ...

I don't know the area but I looked at the services that serve Hexham and all other stations opened more recently are Scotrail managed and operated.

So, we're looking for a station where Northern is the only TOC, has services to Hexham, built in the last 50 years and is an interchange with something non NR. Doing what Asylumxl has done leads me to Heworth.
