Simply - is this happening or not? And if so, when?

Will they be refurbed (effectively becoming Meridians) or will they remain different internally to the rest of the EMT fleet?

There was an online magazine, cant remember what it was called, Tim Shoveller basically said that they are getting the Hull Trains Pioneers but not in time to run the Corby services. He also said they have NOT BEEN SIGNED FOR yet but an agreement was in place. He then went on to say that they would need some "mods" before entering services. That was about a month ago now.

Somehow I feel the agreement might have broken down. It's problems for EMT though as they need intercity stock to run the Corby services and they need to be fast accelerating trains because they need to diagram share with the Sheffield services. Unless when they get enough trains for the Corby services they will stop sharing with the Sheffield services.

The first two units are due to enter service in late January, First group have insisted that they are to be painted before entering service, as 4 car units they will be used mainly on the corby shuttles when they start in march.

Do you mean Corby-Kettering shuttles? As Sheffield and Corby diagrams share you wouldn't want a 4 car train on a Sheffield service.

Thats right. The Corby - Kettering. I don't know the exact details, To be honest I don't think many people do. I am just going by what has been published to us.

First probably don't want trains running around in their livery that they have no control over, for example the former FGE now NXEA 360s were stripped of all First decals. However that doesn't stop NXEA hiring in that FSR class 90 :) Funny that they haven't insisted on Northern reapinting the 180s though. :?:

Anyway we've all seen how quickly EMT managed to paint their existing 222s

The first decals have been removed from the 180s have they not?

it's free advertising, what more could you want?! And besides, does the average commuter give a monkeys what colour their train is? We have train liveries coming out of our ears here and we don't notice!
