I'm curious to know why there isn't a category for the under five's? There are plenty of children under the age of five who simply adore trains.

Will they be able to use a forum? Whether or not there are 5 year olds who simply adore trains wasn't the question.

Many four year old's are able to find their way round the Internet, although of course their activities need to be closely monitored.

I doubt we have any under 5's on here. If there were, there is a chance that they would have complained about the poll.

Interesting how it's developed. I believe when the forum first came online it's population leaned far more to the teenaged group, so it's possibly aging in sync with it's membership! :) Certainly the majority of the staff used to be under 20 or so with a few exceptions a little older.

Seems that many people stop using RailUK at 36 and come back five years later when they're 41!

I noticed that too, the 36-40 number is bit of an anomaly.

Perhaps less an anomaly than one might have expected, looking at a recent population pyramid.

Our poll does seem to match this fairly well.

What the hell happened from 1977-81 to cause such a low birth rate? I blame punk music!

Maybe people preferred oral instead, especially if you were dating an adventurous girl? Having been born in 1966 I was too young to speak from experience.

Or the back door?

Only just noticed this, indeed our poll does fit the bill.

On another note, my poll also answers the original question, namely the forum isn't dominated by children
