Voyagers and Joanna Lumley

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could confirm/shed any light on a rumour I once heard. That being when Virgin introduced the Voyagers they planned to use a recorded announcer that being Joanna Lumley, but they decided against it and never used the system. Has anyone ever heard it or have a audio?

Yes, voyagers do have a rarely used auto announcer from their Virgin days, which I have heard a few times, but I couldn't tell you who the announcer is, sorry

It might be the same announcer as the pendolinos, but again I don't know. Hopefully someone else will be able to shed some more light

Just as well that they didn't. You'd hardly hear her. Met her in my Eurostar days ones. God but she's scrawny! I've seen more meat on a sparrow's ankle.

AGA 170s are now being uploaded with auto-announcements. They are ok but the guard still needs to do additional announcements at connectional stations.

They have been fitted with an auto-announcer since new but only heard on prep if bothering to test the PA system or for depot testing.

PS it's not Patsy, sorry Ms Lumley though.

A very judgemental comment, Each to their own, many people prefer skinny women. I myself prefer plus size women though. I must admit when I saw this thread it seemed more like the sort of thing that would've been posted on WNXX.

I've travelled a lot on Virgin voyagers and I must say that the voice announcements are quite tolerable, virgin don't go overboard on them unlike SWT.
