Zaza; ha, ha, ha, ha! Pelle; ha, ha, ha, ha! Zaza wanted to lure the wurms out of the pitch.

Have you ever noticed that those warm/hot countries where "hot-blooded" people live all have stirring National Anthems, but the colder the climate becomes, the National Anthem tend to take on a dirge-like quality.

I have not. Whilst nobody can argue that England and Iceland's anthem are dirge-like the Swedish anthem is not quite the same level, the Welsh anthem is stirring but Russia's anthem is definitely stirring.

I like the Italian anthem in particular, and the Russian one is a classic.

So England lose 2-1 to Iceland, yet France are beating them 5-1? Disgraceful, but we already knew that...

I've got a great topic for discussion by the ITV Panel at the end of the match if they have the courage.

Why don't they discuss why the BBC beats them hands down every time the two go head to head on a fixture.

As the program is being presented by Mark Pougatch who is a BBC man - not sure who is in the studio but if it is Lee Dixon and Wrighty they are both BBC trained and would have some unique insight having worked for both sides.

They won't even mention when a game is broadcast on the other channel so I can't see it. Besides, they'll have to talk about England when they have no relevance.

That +2 came up late. Hopefully France get a late goal so I can cash in

No such luck, at least I won thanks to Iceland scoring twice (100/30 odds)

But I take it the Wales v Portugal match will be live on BBC and ITV so it is a relevant topic for discussion.

Why do posters think the BBC always trounce ITV in these situations ?

England have beaten all four of the Euro 2016 semi-finalists in the past eight months. Bring back Hodgson?

i can think of 2 reasons:
1. No adverts...
2. No Andy Townsend.

You jest of course! Alan Shearer was particularly scathing of Hodgson, and his lack of "a plan". Incidentally here's a video:

BBC Sport looks back at Roy Hodgson as England manager at Euro 2012, World Cup 2014 and Euro 2016
(and if you like the music track, see Trend towards '80s sounds in modern music ;))

Actually I don't blame Roy Hodgson for the debacle against Iceland although his position was untenable.

Anyway as for tonights game it seems if you're English and you want Wales to win then you're a glory hunter jumping on the bandwagon so, come on Portugal:)

And do you really think the Welsh and Scottish were cheering England on in Euro 96?

I'm English, but previously lived in Wales for a year and have many Welsh friends who I'd like them to see success.
I also have a strong dislike for the arrogance of a certain Portuguese player!

I've got Welsh family and friends who I'm sure wouldn't be cheering on England if the roles were reversed.

I think I can guess the Portuguese player that you're referring to;);)

My friends whilst they wouldn't cheer England on, they always like to see us doing well except when playing against them.

I guess I've got a little more support to the Welsh having lived there and got involved with the locals I was a regularly at Welsh rugby matches. My father in law is Welsh as well.

Well a small part of me wouldn't begrudge Wales some success, Cookie has done a great job and is a likeable bloke, but isn't like cheering on your local rivals at club level when you know they'll be lauding it over you for years to come? And some Welsh fans accusing the English of jumping on their bandwagon doesn't exactly endear them.

Ditto. Although my reasons are largely a mix of wanting the underdog to win (a longstanding British pasttime) and financial

I hope the ref doesn't stand for the play-acting we've seen from Portugal before and just now.

Pity you're allowed to get away with dissent if you're a man child

Seriously, that's at least two incidents of dissents from the pundits' lover-boy. He should be off for an early bath now

Why didn't Andy Murray finish off Tsonga after two sets as I am having to give this priority over the Wales v Portugal match ....not missed a goal yet :p

Thank God Murray has won the deciding set 6-0 , can concentrate on the football now.

A pretty drab first half, in keeping with much of the tournament.

Portugal were denied a clear penalty for a foul on the winker.

Bye Bye Cymru....Ronaldo 1-0....

I don't think Germany or France will be quaking facing either of these two in the Final.

Make that 2-0 !!

Portugal being their usual dirty selves

How funny would it be if the winker did something else stupid and gets himself sent off and banned for the final
