Thanks for sharing that. Do you think any more vehicles will be sent up to the Kilmarnock works for refurbishment or is that it because all the sets have been done?

Not sure; I've heard that LA16 was the last set to be done at Kilmarnock. Who knows, maybe more will go up.

It would be good because I missed photographing two of the sets because they ran rather early.

Does anyone know which West 150 is at Wolverton/due to go to Wolverton next? I haven't seen either 150248 or 150261 recently.

Going off Flickr photos, 150248 not seen since mid-April, but 150261 was seen a few days ago.

150248 has been at Wolverton since late April.

There should be one Mk.3 at Kilmarnock, went by road last week.

What livery? FGW?
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
158796 interior pictures have appeared, they have kept the lovely seats with same dark astroturf seating fabric as on the 150s. They also appear to have two HD screens a-la the Class 700, distributed throughout the carriage. Same table design as on the internally refurbished GWR HST set, a darker wood pattern, unlike the light one on the Class 150s.

I would share a pic, but it is in a private facebook group.

Isn't 166220 due back from Wolverton today? Apparently to RTT it's not even departed yet and was due into Reading at 1117...

http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/P93006/2016/07/02/advanced

It only went last week!

As has been said many, many times. RTT is not a authoritative source of what is happening. Just because a schedule is there doesn't mean it is used, and similarly just because a schedule isn't there doesn't mean it won't run.

I suspect, although I haven't looked, the path is in every Saturday, and just used when required.

Right, hopefully I'll start this post again and manage to attach all the pictures in one post this time!

150001 Was out to play today on the Reading - Basingstoke shuttles, but it's debut didn't go without issues. Not least with the doors in the 55200 car and managed to spend the day with the heating seems to be stuck on.

As for 001s refurbishment. I can't really say I'm that impressed. It has gained standard First Group GWR colours, featuring a lot of rather unimpressive Grey, the same PA system as fitted to the recent 319 refreshments and still retains the original as fitted from new Ashbourne seats - just recovered with a newer version of GWR Moquette (the awful cloth stuff as fitted to the HST & 150 seemingly now dropped). It has also received the standard DDA equipment including very loud door sounders and "bing bong" for the PA Announcements, however PA doesn't talk yet and just scrolls "Welcome Aboard this Great Western Railway service" endlessly.

What I am rather surprised about - I thought the doors were supposed to be of a contrasting colour? The amount of grey for me is also rather resistant of the old Wessex Trains interiors - that monotony only broken by the pink seat grab handles.

Interior pictures. Surprisingly 001 is still in service, however the door fault is in 55200 and as a result that coach is now running locked out of use. Also the coach with the new DDA loo in.

Both green HSTs were at Newton Abbot earlier within a couple minutes of each other, 43188/43187 heading to Paignton with the other ones heading towards Penzance.

Was interesting to see, a shame the Paignton service wasn't delayed long enough for both to pull in side by side

I'm not sure quite what you were expecting. The level of work done looks comparable with that carried out on the 166s at Wolverton. I'm not aware in the case of either type that it was ever billed as anything more than fitting the accessible toilets, and giving the rest of each set a general spruce-up.

Couldn't they install something other than the rubbish Train FX PIS, that gets caught behind on station stops!
I once had a 165 which thought Twyford was Taplow!

Apparently 158956 was due to enter service on Cardiff-Taunton runs, but broke at St Philips Marsh before it started.

The seats backs look much better now they are not painted black

They'll be utterly destroyed within weeks...

There seems to be a rather surprising casualty rate among freshly refurbed 150s, for whatever reason. The lastest 150/2 was poorly at Gloucester a week or so back as well.
