Yep. I'm not referring to the photo above, however, as according to the caption it was a centre car.

Yeah - I meant it (though wasn't very clear) that the MoD destroyed a carriage that was effectively destroyed anyway, not the 'good' driving car

I imagine the other cars of the Potters Bar unit are stored somewhere awaiting the possibility of serious damage to another Networker unit. If this happens they would probably make the difference between repairing or scrapping it.

72291 is reported to have suffered the same fate as 65960 in being scattered across part of Cumbria, 65919 understood to still be at Wolverton, 72290 recently moved to Ilford.

It'd depend what it was being used for. I expect most of the running gear will have been removed for use as spares, but the interior fittings would have probably stayed (assuming that is was used as for training specifically to do with railways, which it probably would have)

Reading around, it seems like the pantograph vehicle was quite badly damaged on account of the twisting before the DMOC broke free of the rest of the set

I remember reading something about this "testing" somewhere, where i read it escapes me however (think it was an urbex site) but I'm sure Buxton was mentioned and old tube carriages.

The Health and Safety Executive's laboratory is in Buxton. They sometimes get to blow stuff up, but I don't recall any tube carriages.

Harpur Hill has or had a few carriages of 1983 Jubilee line stock on a section of line with a tunnel, which have been used for ballistic tests and are well documented on various urban exploration sites.

I'm not aware of any heavy rail stock being located there though, and as described on the forum linked to by Crossover above, the vehicles from 365526 have been used for bomb testing at RAF Spadeadam in Cumbria.

No! More pictures just posted. Disappointed to see the old seats refitted with Saltire covers so it doesn't really look much different. The ScotRail refurbished will include new seats like the 380 s have. 478 due out 30th June.

Just to clarify, 478 will be returning to service with the original seats, the ones ScotRail are refurbishing will be getting new seats?
