Nice shots Karl

At what time were you at Norwich? I was also there whilst going to/from the Mid Norfolk Railway.

I was there as well, enjoying a bit of HO in the early autumn sunshine. Probably stood right next to you when you took this one!

Incidentally, the second run to Great Yarmouth was via Acle making a nice change.

Outbound it was at midday, when we all made the mad dash between the stock that was due to run to Gt Yarmouth but was taken out of service and the replacement stock 47818 was at the head of in Platform 2. On the return we was in Norwich about 5.30pm ish.

Hey if any of you see me when out on the rails, come say hi. You can't miss me, big fella with Big hair lol :)

And thanks for the comments on the pics :)

Karl :)

Think they have four 158 on loan to EMT not sure .Don't they run Norwich-Nottingham?

I think only two are on loan at the moment going by jacknottm's post in this thread. Normally they run between Norwich and Liverpool (I think) but trains from Norwich are currently terminating at Chesterfield and trains from Liverpool are terminating at Sheffield. This is due to essential engineering works at Bradfield Tunnel between Chesterfield and Sheffield.

EMT haven't got enough 158s, hence the SWT ones being brought in. There having to resort to 31s and MK2s on the Derby - Crewes to cover for a lack of 158s.

Nice shots Karl, the weather looked good :)

Thanks for the comments, when are the 31s + MKii running? Sounds like a possible bash there!

No dates have been announced yet, but the overhaul project for all 25 158s should take around 20 months to complete. A training run with 31s was planned. Also 158856 is to be repaired and overhauled after it's accident. RVEL declined to comment at the moment, so we shall have to wait and see. I might even bash them, been a while since I've had a 31 on the mainline :(

Nice shots.

Can I suggest that you change your background image though? Looking at your gallery for too long does strange things to my eyes
