Well look who just registered services... Just read my latest edition of Notices and Procedures, something I love to read, and noticed that Rosa are playing very fast and loose...

In the first capture, Globe Holidays have registered a service

In the second capture, Rosa Holdings T/A Globe Coaches have registered two more - one is owned by Rosa Holdings and the other by Eddie Brown... How the hell the Traffic Commissioner has allowed two similarly named companies to work from the same registered address is beyond me

Similar companies based at the same address is perfectly normal, many operators do it. Even the big boys do it to some degree.

True, but with Tates 2.0 it is such a mess that it needs closer investigation - its two separate companies using the same buses and coaches

One benefit of the dire Tates going is that Stagecoach have taken all their Number 28s meaning that once again, a Stagecoach Return Fare to Ponty for example can be used on all services without having to fathom out which service 28 is Tates or Stagecoach. A step back towards an integrated transport. A route number should never be shared between two companies because of the tickets not been valid on each others services. METRO should know better.

I'm sure Metro don't like it, but they're not allowed to award a contract to a company just because they run the daytime service - otherwise they could charge whatever they liked.

Metro have no power to stop bus companies using whatever numbers they like unless it's a contracted route (see Calderdale where there had been a policy of using numbers between 500 and 599, but TJ Walsh came in and used 300, 400, 525, 555, 600, 700 (and now 800) and HJOC started using much older 2-digit numbers) and if it is a contracted route it makes sense for it to have the same number as the rest of the journeys - a Metrocard will be valid on all of them (within West Yorkshire).

As long as the operator's name printed on the vehicle is correct (and details of the company the vehicle is loaned to, if the vehicle is on a short term loan), all is well.

I've been informed that they haven't change the legals at all
