Morecambe's reductions will only be a couple of Solos I think? While services to Kirkby Lonsdale are pretty savagely cut, there's still a similar amount of peak services out that way.

Given Fleetwood is closing, you'd have to assume that the newly-saved 89 will be run from Lancaster, which is 1 MD extra work.

just saw MX55KPP on a 2 in Morecambe in standard Stagecoach livery. When did it lose the Eric Morecambe paintwork? Just realised I'd not seen it for ages

Apparently an RTA on Stanley Road. Part of reason the Wright Streetdeck has gone to Preston to cover until it is repaired

Does anybody know if / when the Olympians at Morecambe are due to be withdrawn? I know they are still out and about daily on the 42 service as well as Ripley / Grammar services. Just wondered if anything has been heard about potential replacements at all in the near future - wanting to try and get a ride on each of them before they go.

Unsure about replacements but all should be withdrawn by the 1st of January 2017.

Still used on the 5 to Carnforth from Morecambe, especially the morning services. Basically the rule seems to be the 5 gets anything spare that runs that isn't wanted elsewhere. In the morning the route continues as the 51 to Lancaster via the Kellets, so nice scenic route between the two towns

A few observations from last few days.
The 'monstrosity' that is 80028 has apparently departed Preston, not sure where to, but both Fm31 and Fm33 have been in use this week from Frenchwood.
Regarding the 555 shuttle, they are now using four vehicles on it running convoys of two each way once an hour. Drivers change over at Grasmere so presumably Kendal based, yesterday in use were three carlisle E200s (37122/37123/37125) and green Solo 47058

Don't know about the withdrawal/replacements of the Olympians.

But I do wish that they would replace the recently transferred MAN's from Scotlandshire, as I have not yet had a ride on one, with-out breaking-down!<(
Today, I boarded one which was running 5-mins late:-x, by the time I got off it was running over 20-mins late, due to the driver having problems with it<(

Enjoy them! The poor punters on the Fife 19 have been enjoying them for the past 6 or so years!!

We have the pleasure of the MAN's in carlisle too NOT

I noticed that Stagecoach, had started using bigger buses in Carlisle, since Reay's had started running buses in Carlisle, after passengers were complaining about being unable to get on the Solo's that Stagecoach were operating.;);)

There's still the same number of Solo SRs in Carlisle - the MAN E300s are only there so Kendal can have 4x E200 for the 555 shuttle.

Info from the very informative Steven Knight Media web site says that the Euro6 Streetlite at Carlisle (80029) is being returned earlier then expected. Have to say that its interior isn't great and nether is the ride quality, I wasn't impressed.

I've never heard any operator say anything vaguely positive about the Streetlite, which begs the question why anyone continues to order them!

Whats the fuel consumption? if its just as good as the E300, is the Streelites cheaper than E300?

80029 is still in use at Carlisle but due to go back shortly - it is on service 76 today.

just saw in Morecambe for the second time this week a Solo with an oddball livery - predominantly white with red/blue curvy ribbons down the side. Looked like it was on ferry duty between the depot and Lancaster bus station. Reg (from memory) was X243VWR. No reference to it online - any ideas anyone?

I didnt get a chance to have a run on it either

By changing my travel plans slightly I am able to use 80029 both to and from work as it seems to be on the same diagram whenever it is working. I do not like the leather seats (I never have) but other than that I prefer it to the Solos. It does not feel anywhere as claustrophobic as the Solos (I guess actually having a rear window helps) and it is nice to not have hot air blowing onto the back of my head.

It does seem to me that from the inside it sounds rather rougher now than when it first appeared. ot that the Solos sound any better - far from it.

The Streetdeck monstosity (80028) has left Preston now and is apparently on the Isle of Man assaulting the tourists with its gaudy looks :)

I do wish that the Management at Morecambe de-pot, would get their act together. For the past week or so, there have been notices on the buses, advising about the timetable changes taking place on 3rd April, and advising passengers to pick-up the new timetable booklets. Yet, as of this afternoon, the buses still have old timetables booklets dated 28th March 2015 on them!

I got a winter Cumbria one after their timetable change too. Just a case of not having the staff to strip and restock buses. Lancashire CC still don't have concrete details on the web of their services from next week!

With the weather being so nice today, decided to go out and take some photo of buses on services 5B, 5C, & 51, with these being withdrawn this weekend! Unfortunately, most of the drivers thought it would funny to make rude gestures.

If the weather is nice tomorrow, then I will try again to get some photo's of these services.
