In 50 years of train travel I can't remember ever being more than a couple of hours late. Unlike air travel where I was once 4 hours late on a 20 minute flight (Isle of Man to Liverpool).
I believe US train regulations once stated that a train 24 hours late would no longer be given priority as it would now be "next day's" train!
