Validity code 8E

"Valid on any train, except those timed to depart between 0115 and 0400 inclusive."

Christmas: Restrictions are lifted all day from Wednesday 24th December to Friday 2nd January 2009
NXEC do not operate any trains that pick up passengers between 0115 and 0400.

Does this mean, at Christmas time, that they will?

(I suspect not ;))

If read carefully it says not valid on trains that DEPART between 0115, the latest train still running on NXEC is the 2330 KGX-LDS but that picks up only at the intermediate stations and arrives into LDS at 0215.

No, there isn't, and the late trains (2300 KGX-LDS and 0050 YRK-NCL are set down from everywhere apart from their origin stations anyway). The restriction has nothing to do with arrival times.
