I don't have one. I'm just preparing for their next intake if they have one. I'm just trying to understand what kind of things are asked at DMI.
I get confused over the difference between opc interviews and DMI interviews, or are they the same?
Just wondered if they do ask a lot of ... Tell us about a time type question in the DMI or is it more about the company or why you want the role and know about the role type question.

Yeah that's right The mmi interview at stage two assessments is more like example based.

Des, have they actually given you a date? I spoke to HR as had no email yet, and they told me I was shortlisted for the next batch of interviews. Then yesterday I got an email saying further shortlisting was required due to more people than expected passing the assessments, and my application was on hold, pending further available interview slots - though they couldnt guarantee that would happen. Did you get one of these?
Has anyone been given a date yet for the next batch of interviews?

What were the things you didn't expect if you don't mind me asking? I've got mine tomorrow in Liverpool for a position at Piccadilly. Been doing a lot of prep/note making. I'm expecting some focus on Customer Service as well as First are quite big on that.

I got mine on the 4th which am happy about more time prep and revise. Booked my train last night. First class on way down haha

If yours is on the 4th that probably means at least a week's wait before I hear anything. That'll be painful haha!
I'm lucky I won't need to pay anything to get there. If I ask nicely enough I might get to go sit in First
How far have you got to come for the interview?

I shouldn't have pay really. I work for metrolink at the minute and use work for first haha. Am coming from Manchester to liverpool

Yeah you probably would have been able to get on working for Metrolink. I use my pass to go all over on other TOC's, just tend to ask the guard first!

Am hoping so yeah. I was also in the forces and used to work for first before metrolink... I just had Everton fans on my tram. All signing no bother. But the tram was literally bouncing through the city centre haha

Haha. Sounds like an eventful night!
My other half and a few of our friends are Drivers, so I'm hoping that my understanding of the role and insight to all the good and bad that goes with it will help on top of all the prep I've done for the interview!!

Mostly just with prepping for the interview and what kind of things they had to answer in their interviews. I've probably learnt more about the job just from living with the other half though! Haha.

I feel really bad for those who have had their applications put on hold though. One of our mates passed the assessment and got the email yesterday to say he may not get an interview. It's a real shame after all that hard work, and could have been handled better really!

Yeah I'd be gutted but on the plus side he/she has done the tests now and in good stead for the future

Do you have any inside info re Northern recruiting trainee drivers again mate?

Unfortunately not. There's just been rumours so far of looking drivers all over at some point with the new franchise and extra services etc. No solid dates as of yet! I've been having the other half keep an ear out at work haha.
The good news with Northern though is that the DMI is first. So if you pass that and with your enhanced pass from this, you'd most likely go straight to medical!

Sorry for jumping on the thread. Notice you have put about Northern DMI first. Is that for all applicants or for those who have passed assessments already. I have passed all but one to enhanced after the TPE assessment before christmas, applied for Northern Leeds and received an e-mail today for interview. Just wondered if all successful sift will get the same interview or is it a fast track for already passing assessments? Cheers.

As far as I'm aware, all applicants go through DMI first. Everyone I know did, but it could change under the new Franchise.

I no a girl who qualified not long ago for Northern she never mentioned DMI first they way she was speaking was exactly same way as first

Anyone have any interviews today and how did it go ?
DMI with Northern was definitely before tests when I applied with them (late 2013). Because I passed the interview then didnt make their enhanced grade on 1 of the assessments. It is possible this has changed since, but I have not heard this for definite.
