Worse than a pacer?

This appeared today on the Finnish railway hobby picture website ( vaunut.org ). Given all the "fuss" over pacers I thought this might be of interest: The Sri Lankan "pacer:

I will let you get away with that, as we can all see the bright shining light at the end of the Northern tunnel now, but that image certainly brought to mind a certain Mr Adrian Shooter....

I never thought I would see something worse than a Pacer, but I have now.
At least 142s and 144s are trying to look like a train, that isn't even making an effort to look anything other than a bus with train wheels.

I can't imagine that is any more dangerous than the buses over there. We got a bus the other way from Potosi to Sucre and the driver stank of booze. Very exciting.
