Failed at Beattock, we were looped then got the road, sat there and then it was put back, then left about 5 minutes later with 422 working only. i fell asleep again then but was woke up by OJ to say that we were about 5 mins away from carlisle and the tea trolley was just approaching. I had just got one and had just finished putting the milk in when we got the road, 422 was slipping like mad, great way to wake up, drinking tea out the window as a tractor tries to drag load 13 + a dead 37 away froma signal stop 8)

Phwoar, sounds a beast. Can't imagine it was anything like 410 pushing 417 and dragging load 11/12 up Miles Platting

No, nothing like that night, front toplight window with 410 flaming and wheelslipping all the way, bloody good down the marches as well with high speed whellslip and blasting out of Ludlow with 410 lighting the tunnel with an orange glow from the exhausts!

We got re-watered during the stop at Glasgow and a few hoses got rolled out at Carlisle to top the tanks up, The two toilets in the front vestibule were useless after the overnight, one bloke tried to steal Iain's drink and after he snatched it back he went into one of the toilets. i went into use it after he came out and the dirty bugger had pi$$ed up all the walls, in the sink and all over the floor, had flushed paper towels down the bog till it was blocked and then just kept flushing it till the pan overflowed and the floor was covered in pi$$, you really see some undesirables on these tours, surely they don't do things like this at home? As I went to go to the toilet before getting off one lad who was standing at the window said 'i wouldn't bother mate, there absoultly rancid'. The next vestibule down didn't have any and the vestibule after that had 4, the two in the mk2 were locked out with handles taken off while the one of the ones in the Mk1 looked like it had been used by the same bloke as the one in the front and then other one stunk to high heaven and had no water! In short if you wanted to use the toilet and didn't want something that was trashed or would give you nasal cancer then FC was the best bet!

Sounds just like one of my experiences on a Pendo, nearest useable toilet 5 coaches away :neutral:

Turned out to be quite a good tour despite the farce's! the stock left Bristol the 'wrong' way round that is if you had booked the front coach (which was marked up as coach C), amazing how the paperwork for millerhill was suddenly found when the headlight failed on 417! this however turned out to be good thing for all of us in coach C8) with the stock now t'other way round we were now at the front and had the grumbling 60100 on topt round fife and alloa and after a very quick pit stop into glasgow off we went to deanside loop behind the 37's, then after a quick stagger back out off we went to carlisle with 422 leading 417 which gave up at Beattock with low coolant!
422 did a good job taking the 13coach+dead 417 onwards to carlisle although struggled with much wheelslip getting into the stn from a signal stop!
after a very slow loco change 92002 hummed on and off we went to crewe with Shap disspensed with on the way! at crewe the humming machine was taken off and some garden shed put on, another farce at new street when the TRTS panel couldn't be found lol.

We left the tour at parkway and fast car down the M4 jus missing the pile up by minutes in fact we overtook one of the lorries involved!

One thing i did notice was how many stinking dirty veg there was onboard the train some looked and smelled like they havn't seen a bath in months!!! come on!!! and the ****s that kept ****ing allover the bogs because they couldn't handle a couple of shandy's!!

Where about were you sat? There was about 10 of us alternating between one of the front bays and the two second bays during the day.

One thing i did notice was how many stinking dirty veg there was onboard the train some looked and smelled like they havn't seen a bath in months!!! come on!!! and the ****s that kept ****ing allover the bogs because they couldn't handle a couple of shandy's!!

This is what I was on about earlier, I don't think some people have even heard of personal hygiene, never mind making themselves look presentable. I took and second t-shirt and a new deoderant can with me, I don't think some people had cjhanged their t-shirts or had a wash all week judging by the state of them! And then wrecking the bogs. Why? I don't understand why someone would go and trash the toilets when there is still hours left of the tour and they are obviously going to need to go again, it just makes everyones day worse and gains them nothing!

And also as a result of their behaviour, stock providers are hardly going to make an effort in providing decent coaches/toilets if this is the way people treat them.

...and me. Some of these people are getting a bit desparate for 37 mileage eh 37412.

I'll be enjoying my grid (that's a grid not a pair of tractors ) in an odour free train thanks to Spitfire!

Hopefully Spitfire have actually liased with Fastline over getting a grid, apparently unlike other railtour operators....which might just help.

I should have been sat in the bay opposite you in that case then as i was seat 29 however i re-jugled it so i could sit in the front bay 8)
