This thread is locked. Many thanks to the OP for bringing this to our attention and if you or your friend wish to pursue the matter further I wish you well in that endeavour. If you do require any advice on that please don't hesitate to contact me or another member of the
Staff Team and we'll look into re-opening the thread.
I haven't deleted any posts from this thread and I don't intend to at this moment in time.
I note that some people seemed to be confused why posts on a different thread were deleted. We do ask that if you're unsure about a moderation decision that you contact us directly via PM or using the Contact Us form for an explanation. The automatic PMs are a little clunky but better than nothing and if the deletion reason confuses you please don't hesitate to get in touch. We do ask, however, that you keep such questions off the forum.
Further we seem to have lost the willingness to give each other the benefit of the doubt and as such also seem to have forgotten this part of the
Forum Rules:
Respectful
- We aim to create a friendly environment for all members, where individuals respect each other. Please ensure your contributions comply with this.
If there is a misunderstanding about what a poster means rather than assuming the worst and have a dig why not ask for clarification first? It might be that you're actually in a agreement or a clarification can help you and others understand what is being said. We want a friendly atmosphere. Jumping on people without giving them chance to clarify or explain their point is not conducive to that.
I would also like to remind everyone that posts in this section of the Forum should always be relevant and directed at assisting the OP. It's not just on this thread that things go off on tangents but on other thread in this section. If you want to discuss something that isn't directly relevant start a new thread and link back to the main thread. Feel free to quote a few posts for context. But leave these thread clear of interesting but often irrelevant discussion.
I would suggest people may wish to re-familiarise themselves with the guidance for those giving advice which can be found
here.
Finally a reminder to everyone about another section of the Forum Rules which sometimes seem to be forgotten about:
Respectful
- Do not post material which in any way discriminates against, or provokes, any person or group of persons.
Try to think about that rule and particular the section in
bold before posting. Some of the posts on this thread could be quite provocative to other members. I think sometimes because the posters making them don't go back and proofread their posts so things might not sound as they intended. Just stop and think before posting if what you're saying is actually clear.
Many thanks,
