Awkward XC Guard - Overcharged

I'm willing to post XCs reply. They stated this issue will never happen again and assured the member of staff will be talked to. In an ideal world, if they are convinced this issue will never happen again then they should bring in a policy, in writing, to compensate passengers for any error made by the company which leaves passengers out of pocket through no fault of their own. Admittedly such instances are fairly rare I'd imagine and such a policy would be difficult to implement. However, this would incentivise rather 'keen' employees to double check perhaps.

Most people wouldn't know the TM was wrong. The TM is usually accepted as being right and they wouldnt normally dispute his/her knowledge. This particular XC TM was particularly forthright and adament he was right. Most people would not therefore disbelieve him.

Due to this many people may unwittingly have been overcharged and wont challenge tje purchase of superfluous tickets. If such compensation was mentioned in the passenger charter it may cause staff to think again before confronting passengers.

Laughable really, should be an award for jumping on someones high horse.

Maybe that should go to the poster who A-driver quoted who has form here in going straight for the jugular, including being a cocky so and so to RPIs and also wanting people to go to the press then A-driver was perfectly right in what he said to them.

Lol. You have read someone's one sided alleged events and decided that the guard has poor customer service skills, a bad attitude and is making up rules. Untill you hear the full story (including the guards side of it) you are a million miles off of a position to judge.

How many XC guards who fit that bill have you met?

Now, would you like to guess how many I have met?

If there is a misunderstanding about what a poster means rather than assuming the worst and have a dig why not ask for clarification first? It might be that you're actually in a agreement or a clarification can help you and others understand what is being said. We want a friendly atmosphere. Jumping on people without giving them chance to clarify or explain their point is not conducive to that.

I would also like to remind everyone that posts in this section of the Forum should always be relevant and directed at assisting the OP. It's not just on this thread that things go off on tangents but on other thread in this section. If you want to discuss something that isn't directly relevant start a new thread and link back to the main thread. Feel free to quote a few posts for context. But leave these thread clear of interesting but often irrelevant discussion.

I would suggest people may wish to re-familiarise themselves with the guidance for those giving advice which can be found here.

Finally a reminder to everyone about another section of the Forum Rules which sometimes seem to be forgotten about:
