Hi all
I've recently applied for the position of customer service host with Southern Rail and i'm wondering if anybody else has experience of how long it takes them to get back to applicants ?
The vacancy closed on the 12/11/15 but as yet I've heard nothing back have checked my online account and it says my application is still live so it still looks like they are considering me.
Anyway thanks in advance and have a great Christmas to one and all.

Customer Service Host.
What's that in real language? It sounds like a cocktail waitress.

Smiley, happy, fluffy types.

It's the way everywhere seems to be going now. Operational knowledge and experience will come scone to customer service now we are in the world of social media.

Basically it's the same as a customer service assistant/station assistant ticket checking, information, safety, security helping customers with additional needs just a jazzy new title

Just another example of people with a limited vocabulary trying to make themselves sound clever. A Customer Service Host is not hosting anything. A Customer Service Assistance is assisting someone with the service.
Rather like the BBC news announcer on the idiot box a few evenings ago who announced that, "Cumbria has been experiencing unprecedented weather". It wasn't unprecedented, the same weather was experienced eight years previously.
