I believe some Rhone-Alpes TER services still use Corail stock.

Information please on what stock is likely on Sundays in January. My sister wonders whether First Class is worth it, but in my experience on TER services, only Corail coaches offer superior seating.

As far as I know Bourg St Maurice is still part of the Chambery 22200+corail circuit trains radiating from Lyon (along with Grenoble, Geneve, Dijon) . Can't remember about specific trains or dates though.

I'd disagree about seating. I'd say first class is worth it even if the train is a unit. The units used in the area have decent first class sections, and you will beenfit from a more spacious/exclusive environment
