I was wondering if anyone has any plans of using the HST's into Waterloo and Marylebone, just for the sake of doing it? I would imagine the trains will be pretty packed though.

I've given it some thought and I assume if I where to buy a Network South East return to Reading from Watford, the ticket would be valid by both routes. Leave Marylebone and return to Waterloo.

I'm doing it on a London - Oxford ticket, outbound from Marylebone (more chance of a seat that way), and inbound to Waterloo.

I suspect the train from Reading to Waterloo will be a lot more busier than the service to Oxford, seeing as it will probably be quicker for anybody travelling to the South of Wales to use a HST out of Waterloo and change at Swindon

I hope whichever TOC it is remembers that they need to use short-link coaches

Neither are new routes for HSTs ;) Waterloo has been very very regularly featuring during major blockades over the past couple of years and whenever it has it's always been normal Waterloo. Marylebone less so but I'm sure there were some services into there not so long ago.

Edit: Actually it would seem I might well be wrong regarding Marylebone.

Nope brand new track for HSTs i think there for some problem up until recently that meant that they could not go into the station. Can not remember what it was though.
