Its just about possible to see North Queensferry station from Dalmeny I think.

Its definitely possible to see Glasgow Central station from Argyle Street entrance although not sure about the platform.

With a ladder and some glasses you could see to 'Acney Marshes if it wasn't for the 'ouses in between. (old music hall song)

In addition to the Glasgow area locations already mentioned:

Maxwell Park/Pollokshields East
Bridgeton/Dalmarnock
Kings Park/Croftfoot

I think you can also see a bit of the westbound platform of Queen St Low level from Charing Cross

I know it is DLR but I think Canary Wharf and West India Quay need a mention.

Heron Quays, Canary Wharf and West India Quay are the three closest stations in the world on the same route.

On the Metrolink Mosley Street used to be visible from Piccadilly Gardens which I always thought was too close, I think Market Street is visible from Piccadilly Gardens just about and I know Harbour City is visible from MediaCityUK as I regularly have to walk it because of points failures.

Back on the main line Piccadilly is just about visible from Ardwick and the very tip of the platform at Newcastle I think is just about visible from Manors. The old Gateshead station would have had a good view of Newcastle station.

Wasn't the whole point of Mosley Street so you could always get the 1st tram towards Altrincham without having to guess if it would come from the Piccadilly Gardens or Market Street side of the junction, hence being unidirectional?

Pretty much, they replaced the station with a Metrolink CIS on the corner of the street telling you where to go instead. (There's a point for a trivia - any similar instances of a CIS in a street etc not attached to a specific station? hard one to work).
You should have been able to see St. Peter's Square from there just about, but that assumes that there aren't any buses or trams blocking line of sight.

You can see St Pancras from large swathes of North London, but not sure from how many stations, other than Primrose Hill, and that's been closed for a week or two. Camden Road, I would have thought, and Hampstead Heath? Yes, I know you can't see any track, but who cares with that magnificence in line of sight.

Would Workington North have been visible from Workington or vice-versa?

You can see Workington station buildings from North but not the other way due to road overbridge and track curvature at north end of Workington station.
It was possible to stand on the rail bridge footpath to Siddick Junction over the river Derwent and see Workington Main, Central and Bridge stations and North had it been open in 1964.

Severn Tunnel Junction and Caldicot.
Lydney Junction and St Mary's Halt from former Lydney Junction
Before closure Oakle Street and Grange Court Junction
Before closure Gloucester Eastgate and Central

Anyone mentioned Barton on Humber and Barrow Haven, you have to squint though to see BH from BoH.

North Sheen from Richmond, so long as you stand at the east end of the Windsor Line up platform.

Warblington & Havant?

With maybe standing at the other end of Havant being able to see Bedhampton?

Warlington and Havant fine, Bedhampton no way the line curves and blocks any view, and I have a feeling that at one time, one could made out Emsworth station from Warblington but only after dark when it was possible to pick out the staton lights, don't think this is possible now due to the building of the A27 overbridge.

Most of the stations on the Coryton branch in Cardiff...actually if I recall correctly it might even be possible to see two following stations from somewhere on that branch...?

You can travel from Exmouth to Starcross without changing trains and with a decent pair of binoculars you would be able to see Starcross from the platform at Exmouth, but only if there isn't a train in.

Deganwy to Glan Conwy can be seen down the estuary, but Llandudno Junction inbetween can't

Although technically 'against the rules' if you stand on the foot crossing at Ty Glas on a clear day with a pair of binoculars it is possible to see down the line all the way to Coryton

Are there not one or two on the Bedford - Bletchely line?

Stewarby and Kempstone Hardwick, surely? And Bow Brickhill to Woburn Sands, and maybe Fenny Stratford?

You can see Emsworth from Havant. ;)
