any enlight into tube driver vacancies?

Always found this area a blur, due to the small union not allowing vacancies to go public, is this true?

any idea when the last vacancy's for tube drivers/trainees were released?

Last intake externally was around 2001 however they did openly recruit for women for quite a while.

All vacancies are advertised internally. The last external recruitment campaign wasn't exactly a success, but that may have been down to the training given!

2001, wow! That's such a shame, no real opportunity for anyone outside of TFL?

It stands to reason that they'll have to advertise externally at some point due to natural staff wastage such as retirements. I know TfL would happily run on a skeleton staff, but the unions would certainly never allow that.

There have been plenty - however it doesn't involve walking straight into a driver's job these days. I mentioned the most common path to promotion in this recent thread. Many have succeeded within less than 12 months of joining the company.
