Wonder if they start diverting trains via Hertford North certainly an option to keep things moving

⚠ Some services are being diverted via the Hertford loop due to emergency services dealing with an instant at #Welwyn

Indeed.

A 0Z99 Thunderbird has left KX and is going around the Hertford loop. !s30 1830 is standing just north of Welwyn North, does this require assistance from the front?

Depends on the damage inflicted by the impact.

If it has smashed the windscreen, damaged the horns, AWS/TPWS receiver, headlights then yes possibly.

Thoughts to all those concerned & involved.

Heading south at the moment for KX, see what happens.

Seems to be a common thing in this area, St Neots in particular, or is that just because I notice EC problems more?

Just passed Stevenage heading south, no mention of delays but big knock on northbound delays, 8pm GC service was sat there, just passed by VTEC Bradford FS service running over 2 hours down.

No kidding there; in regards to performance September was a very poor month. Can't comment on this last month as I've only used the trains last weekend, however I do continue to receive service updates on the NRE app.

My thoughts are with all involved.

A friend diverted to Liverpool St - Cambridge instead of the KX line, only to find all Liverpool St - Cambridge trains cancelled. He finally got home via train to Stansted and taxi.

St Neots and Biggleswade are worst area for suicides.

Seems to have been a particularly bad incident tonight.

On 1D27 1833 Kings Cross to Bradford.

Returned to Kings Cross, then north via Hertford loop.

RTT shows us continuing to Bradford but announcements say we will terminate at Leeds approx 2317

RTT doesn't have the facility to show changes of route or curtailment unless a train is cancelled and replaced by a VSTP but this is rare even on a diversion.

I was on that as well. Only going to Stevenage and arrived 126 minutes late at 2059. Originally left Kings X on time but RTT shows the second departure at 1944.

Was OK on the train, people understood what had happened and the guard was really good explaing about refunds etc.

I failed to get on to the 19:44 GN service (Cambridge/Kings Lynn) as it was only 4 coaches! This started boarding about 19:55 (& was already full within minutes) but was still in platform 0 about 25 minutes later.

I got the 19:52 Peterborough train which left Platform 8 about 20:28 - this train was the first one to run through via Welwyn so we were held at Digswell for a while.
At Hitchin - the automated announcements seemed to be running non-stop for lots of late running services (& I suspect several which were not moving at all!) and also were incorrect - it was announcing a Cambridge service when another Peterborough train arrived.
Do GTR no longer put the CIS into Disruption mode so it only displays/announces what is actually running - FCC were good at doing this at in their latter days.

I've seen this happen on GN, but then again they seem to have updated the software in recent weeks so maybe something has gone wrong?

(The changes include the new 'may not stop' warning on screens).
