North west trainee vacancies

I take it that openings for trainee train drivers in the north west, more so nearer to Wirral, Chester way are as rare as hens teeth?

Currently I'm in the police and looking to get out. For obvious reasons.

Chester take on from time to time, its one of the more regular ATW depots for trainees, although last time was internal only iirc. Merseyrail at Birkenhead normally only take trainees from within. Northern and TPE were both recruiting at Liverpool very recently.

I'd probably forget ATW for the moment especially the north as they've taken on about 16 trainees over the past 18 months can't see many more coming up. best bet is with northern or TPE

Excuse my ignorance but what are these acronyms you are using?

Merseyrail have a round of recruitment for Revenue Protection Officers once a year, the money is good, higher than a guard and they are particularly interested in ex cops for that role, assuming candidates are suitable. Annoyingly its only once every August, but worth it if you find nothing else, Steve Shiels is their boss at Liverpool Central.
