Just come back from a break in Norfolk and got a weekly Anglia Plus Season (issued at Norwich ticket office) which would not work in the new barriers at Norwich at all. They advised I got it re-issued and the new one did not work in the barriers either, the staff were busy so i had to wait and missed the Sheringham train.

The Greater Anglia customer service staff were very good and got me a taxi excellent service thanks to them :D

When my weekly ran out I got a one day Anglia Plus that also did not work in the new barriers, it did not appear I was the only one having problems as the queue was longer for help with the barriers then people going though with tickets.

Wonder why the new barriers are so problematic?

Barriers don't determine validity and it's quite common for valid tickets to be rejected. At my local station they are often programmed to reject all tickets discounted with railcards so they can check you have one.

I'd claim delay repay if your arrival at Sheringham was delayed by more than 30 minutes.

Ironically AGA staff passes that never worked with the old gates now work ok with these new ones. We are told to use them rather than bothering the gateline team.

Thanks Greater Anglia customer service was very good and got me there so no need to claim.

Did not realise it was that common for valid tickets to be rejected CS at Norwich said to have mine replaced and even the new one would not open barriers at Norwich.

Thought it might be the gates playing up but what you have said does explain.
