The GTR talent pool.

I think that it might be based on when you applied?? I applied back in February but because of an issue their end I didn't have my assessments till April. My DMI was 1st June and my medical on the 12th. I see that there are some who had their assessments and interview before me so I don't know how else they could have worked it out.

I applied Nov 2014.... i think it might be based on scores.... or am i just clutching at straws???

For a £6.5bn project I find it hard to believe that some project manager doesn't have a a Ganntt chart with a list of locations, trainee numbers etc written on it well into the future.

Didnt quite follow that either Bucko. The two courses will be filled by now. The forum members allocated to said courses had their medical what June or before June. At a guess and its only a guess as its mostly hearsay on here anyway, it looks as though the courses are being filled chronologically. I had my medical July7th, have seen a few others on here with a similar medical date which have yet to be allocated a start date. This would then suggest that the next batch of courses whenever they get released will be for the July medical forum members. But really i could just be talking absolute rubbish as really until any of us actually get a phone call its all pure speculation. I empathise with how everyone feels though constantly checking the phone/email/forum and harsh and maybe even obvious as it may seem i think its just a case of.... Wait for the call.

I had a medical back in May, unfortunately they havent gone in order of pass dates for some reason, could be because of longer notice periods for the guys who got the bedford dates, could be anything?

But heres a fact...I was told that I would be placed on a course, and that they wouldnt put people in the pool if they werent going to offer them a job.

<------------That would go for everyone, another Fact is loads of us have medicals, I think 90%+ people pass these so they wouldnt waste money on medicals if they werent going to give you a job

Apparantly this is the largest recruitment campaign for drivers in modern day rail history (stated on their website)

We all got a letter saying were in the pool, so we are definitely in the waiting list.

If you remember the allocation of interviews, the dates came slowly, and eventually everyone got an interview.

A lot of points clarifying why we will be placed on a course, well put. I am confident all who have had their medicals and even those who havent will be placed on a course. I think its more a matter of when than if.

Just seen guys gtr looking for trainee train drivers for kings lynn and cambridge.

Am waiting for kings cross was wondering if I contact hr and say am flexible to move to those depots if it would get me into a course quicker?. I can relocate easily.

Hope we start hearing start dates soon.

Yeh i live 75 -80 minutes / 40 miles from cambridge... Will be 3x longer commute to work

If they had doubts about the current pool not getting courses, they would have asked us guys first, if we would be interested , before forking out 50+k for another campaign?

And yesterday I didnt get a talent pool email............. worry or relax ?

It basically said i remain in the talent pool, they don't have a specific start date for me but to be aware they do have a large number of courses planned and once they have a vacancy for me they will be in touch to progress me....

Not sure what to make of it seeing as I appear to be the only once who has received this....?

What depot are you waiting for?

I just got told by hr last month that when they have a start date they would contact me.

Doesnt seem well planned out lots people wondering if they will get on a course.

I had my medical end of may / first week of June and I too didn't get an email.

I emailed them a couple days ago though and they said in on the pill and will be contacted when courses are available. Im for kings cross or blackfriars.
