1) What is hauling it?

2) How come it seems to have started at Tebay? I assume passengers were picked up at Oxenhome

3) How come it was late away form Crewe when it seemed to arrive in good time?

Interestingly Tebay doesn't have a station any more so wonder how passengers boarded the train there.

i am assuming they boarded at Oxenholme

That would make sense as there was a 7 minute wait there instead of 4 minutes as planned.

46115 has expired at Rugby and the train has gone forward an hour late behind a 47. 46115 is presently in the carriage sidings at Rugby

I agree and lots of lost profit, the tickets weren't cheap.

Don't they have a back-up diesel in reserve just in case the steam loco fails ? Surely some passengers will want to go to spend a few hours in York ? It must be understood that steam locomotives do fail / break down . Obviously there is disappointment for those wanting steam haulage.

I'd think a fair number of people would rather a refund then diesel haulage. Some people may wish that wasn't the case as diesels have a history to but that's the way it is I reckon.

Cannot have been a major failure - 46115 and support coach ran from Rugby to Carnforth today (18 Sept.) - possibly something like a hot axlebox ??

I agree with LeylandLen though, yes I know Statesman were screwed about with no Clan Line to Canterbury, and I missed out on getting it in the book which was annoying, but at least the 67 took us through to Canterbury anway. Just as well I so mileage as it added to it, normals of course wouldn't be interested but although the lack of steam was a dissapointment they did say that at least they had a day out in Canterbury which had it been canned they'd just be stuck at home.

I would have done it to York irrelavent not just for the track I needed but to go to York seeing as the one by PF earlier in the year I booked on was cancelled by lack of bookings
