Does anyone else's online account not match their status?
I've recently logged on to my GTR account and it shows as "application submitted" when the reality is that I'm passed the interview stage.

Didn't know I even had one?

Email received from GTR at beginning of August:

Dear Candidate,
Govia Thameslink Railway was joined by Southern and Gatwick Express on 26 July 2015 becoming the largest Train Operating Company in the UK.
We have launched a new recruitment system representing all four brands: Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Southern and Thameslink.
Therefore please can you re-register on our new recruitment system at GTRailwaycareers.com, to have access to the vacancy list and application process.
Please note: If you have previously applied for a vacancy on the current GTR recruitment system gtrcareers.com, your application will continued to be process through the system. However for any future vacancies you will need to re-register on the new recruitment system.
We are always keen to add new talent to GTR, thank you for your interest shown in working for our company and good luck with your future career.
Regards,
GTR Recruitment Team.

Unless it's changed the computer tests and the MMI are done about two weeks after the paper tests.

Thanks for the positive news mate

Sadly I think the hold-up is more down to waiting for trainers / classrooms.

Keep the info coming tho, with all this waiting we need all the encouragement we can get !!

Wage is currently 48665 for qualified and going up to 51k next April. No compulsory sundays, taxis to and from work for dead earlies and lates. Definitely one of the better tocs for terms and conditions.
Many weeks you'll work over your 35 hours as the spare turns are now shorter but the extra is paid so it bumps your money up each month. Would rather have it so the spare turns are longer but they seem to change this alot so may revert.
Pretty chilled out firm compared to others.

Glad I'm not the only one who's not heard from them makes me feel better about this. I didn't pass the eye test had to go away and get glasses. Did that and passed the eye sight test early August and have heard nothing from them since then. Seems there's quite a few of us waiting to start me and three other friends are waiting to start at Kings Cross.

What I wouldn't give to have somebody just ring me up and say "Yep. Your date is in 5 weeks."

Please Lord, just do this for me! And I'm not even religious!

I am feeling the same way too even if they just phoned and said you will be starting in November I would be happy with that

I'd be happy with just knowing a date so I can plan my life a bit better right now I can't plan anything too far in advance not knowing if we are going to get a call up.

Emailed Claire today and got a speedy response as usual. She said nothing to worry about as it doesn't affect my application. They have had a changeover in computer systems and once they are ready to progress my application status will be upgraded accordingly.

Also spoke to Claire today she said no news yet on when course dates will be released but they have started to arrange dates and will let us know accordingly.

Sounds no different to what we have been told over the last 3 months or so lol. Don't want to be negative

Only difference is that Peterborough have taken new starters

I think the best positive is that Peterborough drivers are now being put on courses so the wheels are in motion. I think the whole merger with Southern hasn't helped things.

Cant see it to be fair. Bedford is the biggest depot. Correct me If I'm wrong but wouldn't the closest southern depot be MK? Which isn't even a termination station, Birmingham is. Cant see Thameslink candidates being given to Southern and have to travel from Bedford to Birmingham. Its the Thameslink programme that needs the drivers if Southern needs drivers wouldn't they recruit their own?

Sounds different to me if they are saying arranging courses like they probably have a number of courses in mind or provisional dates and it won't be long especially with summers end to let people know

If southern depots are short would they consider thameslink candidates now it is one company or are they keeping completely separate?

When I spoke with Claire a week yesterday as I live between Peterborough and Bedford I was told I would not be considered for Peterborough (even though it's closer) I would only be considered for bedford
