Duration of franchise I believe. Bought in "for ECS moves between Crown Point and Ilford" as it has no bell buzzer yet has found itself working passenger services regularly, much to the delight of the crews....
Didn't DBS attend CP to fit the various mods (DRA etc) to enable it work passenger services as per GAs operating requirements. I understood it's hire was until all GA 90s are re-painted/overhauled?
Seems odd they would hire in the 90 when there's already a DRS 37 there for transfers!

It's been on the Pretendolino too (and is on there as we speak too
). Depends where it's needed really, as 37419 normally assists with ECS moves too.

Wasn't on the Pretendolino today as I had 90013 as my trusty steed. My liking of this ex-Virgin set has diminished somewhat as currently has no coffee machine fitted. This may change very soon though.
