There is a Class 47 sitting in Southall near some green MkIs. Does anyone know the number, the owner of that train and whether it will be used on a rail tour?

I too passed Southall on Saturday and believe it is 47245 which is currently being used for steam railtour ECS duties between Southall and London Victoria or any other tour originating point in London. It is owned by West Coast Railway Company. The coaches it was next to is WCRC's green train formed of BR Green MK2s/MK1s.

Yeah, I'm certain it was 47245. It seems to be London's loco at the moment, and pops up whenever there is a Steam Dreams Tour.

In regards to 5872's post about the railway centre.. last time I tried looking for it, I ended up in an industrial estate and totally lost.. Certainly not the easiest place to find.

I hear 37712 should be heading south as there is an SD job on Sat that is diesel outbound to Chester for a kettle back, I wonder which will do the ECS and which one will work to Chester, hope it's the 37, could do with having a spin on 712 8)

Oh not 47245 :( That was the worst thing I have ever had haulage from! Going up Exeter Bank it was silent...)

Oh well, the steam leg will be muuuuuuuuch more exciting.

Ooooh, just read some gen saying that 37712 is heading to Southall on 0Z37. The chances are that 712 will be on the tour!

The 37 could just be the ECS loco.

Someone been having a bit of a flap have they?

Yes, had Mr Sheen on the phone 'flapping are we guv, i'm going to phot will let you know where' etc, etc, reply was summat like you enjoy photing duffs then as the tour ain't 712!'

Sure the 'allocated' engine will change at least once between now and Saturday!

Will have to contact the Cpt if it does!

The 37 could just be the ECS loco.

Think your probably right there!
