I remember when the screens were first introduced if a seat was going to be reserved en route then they Displayed "Seat XX is not Reserved" which caused confusion as passengers would sit in those seats and mid way though the journey they would change to "Seat XX is Reserved from [station] to [station]" now of course they say "Seat XX Available until [station]".

That's Voyagers. Pendolinos have always had shorter, non-scrolling descriptions.

EDIT - whilst i am on why cant people these days sit in a seat that is reserved but not for the part of the journey they want to make? drives me mad!

No such announcements are made at Euston.

Announcements of which coaches are unreserved? Not in my experience; the autoannouncer doesn't do them, and manual announcements are not common these days.

they normally do a human announcement if it is a busy evening train although on the morning trains it seems less frequent - whether anyone listens is another matter ;)

FGW seem to do it all the time but VTEC rarely make such annoucements
